A leader in trailer rental, leasing, and maintenance solutions, Trailcon Leasing is currently hiring a Director, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) who can provide oversight as well as lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the organizations, health and safety programs in order to adequately protect the health & safety of Trailcon Leasing employees and contractors as well as meet all relevant legislation.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Hybrid Work Model
Job Responsibilities
- Establish OHS management programs & procedures, coordinate, support, and follow up on their implementation
- Develop, implement and manage comprehensive OHS audit programs to validate that Trailcon Leasing is in compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines and accepted industry practices
- Conduct on-site reviews of OHS practices for Audit and Coaching purposes
- Advise senior managers on priority OHS issues
- Develop strategic and tactical performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals
- Coordinate all activities with OHS regulatory officials
- Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement
Requirements
- Sound analytical thinking, change management planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all programs
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
- Three to five years of experience in a management role and preferred experience in the transportation industry
- Safety Management Professional designation from a recognized organization (CRSP, CSP, NEBOSH, CRST)
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
